An Excursion to the Old World

I am a student at the University of Toronto (Canada), going on what was once called "the Grand Tour" -- a trip around the whole of Northern Europe (and, perhaps, in the near future, Southern Europe as well). My parents and I should be spending about 3 months on our tour. I hope you will enjoy reading about my experiences, and feel free to suggest places to go (or pictures to take).

T-1 and Counting

Well, everything's packed (which is quite significant for a trip of three months).

The plan is to head for London first. I've got an orchestral treat planned in the first week (St. Martins in the Field Orchestra). Then, we should be off to Longleat, on the last weekend which it is open this year.

Well, hopefully the flight will go well.

Did you know that not only can you get your tickets electronically (i.e. just an e-mail), now you can check in to flights online? It's rather unsettling, not to have those comforting tickets (and boarding passes) in your hand, any more.

Algonquin Park

We had a little pre-trip in Algonquin Park. Here's a picture from that. (Actually, just my excuse to test out the picture uploading capabilities of the system).

First day for everything

Just testing this system out.
